Install/ Flash Clean Android 4.0 ICS on Micromax Funbook

Micromax Funbook is the best budget tablet in the Indian market right now. It got the potential to run everything we throw at it . But the stock ics which comes with the tablet is filled with useless bloatwares . These useless stuffs makes the tablet laggy and decreases its gaming performance. But this problem can be solved easily by flashing clean ics . The process is really simple , reading this post is going to help you in flashing clean ics without much pain.

You must download all the required files from the the link mentioned in the bottom on this post .

After you have completed downloading, extract the LiveSuite 1.07 x86 x64.zip to Desktop . Here is a screenshot of the extracted file .

Now you need to extract the main "img" file.To extract the "img" file you need to place all the 6 parts in one same folder and since the are in rar format use winrar to extract them. Select the very first rar file(4.0.3-97F1-D1-H2-H01-N413.20120314.part1.rar)  and extract it. Winrar will automatically combine the different part into one single "img" file.

Now we have all the required files . Lets flash the clean ics. 

How to Flash

First open the “LiveSuit.exe“. It will show up like this:

Now choose the “.img” file you extracted earlier.

Click on SelectImg > Browse to the “.img” file and choose it.

Keep LiveSuite running. Make sure it has enough battery to survive through the process. You must have atleast 80% of battery left in the device.Turn off Micromax Funbook.

Caution - the following steps might tricky - follow them with proper attention 

While the tab is switched off, press the back button. Keep it pressed and connect your tab to your PC. Now, while keeping the back button pressed and tab connected to PC press the power button 10 times as fast as possible.

Your pc is now going to detect the tablet .But if you haven't installed the drivers - the pc won't recognize the device . You must install the drivers using this process . 

Disconnect the tab and connect again using the same method as mentioned above. LiveSuite should remain open all this time.

After you have connected your tab to your PC again using the above mentioned method, you will see a LiveSuite pop up like below shown image.

Click Yes, you will see another dialogue pop up. Click Yes again. It will start flashing you Micromax Funbook.

After its done you will see a message box as imaged below. Click OK and you are done!

Time to boot up

For the first time your tab will take around three to five minutes to boot up. Don’t worry, its normal. You will see that the bootscreen has changed to the default Android bootscreen.

You will also notice that the tab works fast and is very responsive as well.

So, that’s it. Congratulations. You Flashed your Micromax Funbook with Clean Android 4.0 ICS.

CAUTION  - After flashing clean ics , you will lose the CWM recovery installed on your tablet. You must again install it using this process
